May 16: Ten Steps to Federal Employment – 8:30 - 4:30 pm, Bldg 732, A&FRC. Learn the ins and outs of navigating the Federal job system. Learn how to prepare the right resume format, targeting the correct job title and grade. Participants are encouraged to bring a Federal job vacancy announcement of their interest. May 17: Amazing Race – KRA. Cost is $50 per team and sign up date is May 1. Second Annual Amazing Race Competition provided by the McConnell AFB Fitness Center. The competition will consist of 7-10 events that will challenge each team’s physical ability, mental dexterity, and team cohesiveness. Each team will consist of no more than 6 players and they must have a minimum of 1 female and 1 male on each team. The event will be scheduled from 0800-1500 with each team having about 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete the 7-10 tasks provided. The teams will have staggered times to prevent any delay. There will be one member of the Fitness Center with each team from start to finish making sure an accurate time of completion is recorded. There will be one requested volunteer present at each station to make sure each team is following the rules and regulations accordingly. For more information please call 759-4009.

Representatives from numerous base agencies will be present to share information & resources that will be helpful to know prior to the newborn’s arrival. In addition, free “baby bundles” will be distributed.
May 29: Home Buying Seminar – 2:00 – 4:00, Bldg 732, A&FRC. Learn the actual process and costs associated with buying a home. Call A&FRC at 759-6020 early to sign up.
May 31: Your Personality and Money – 2:00 – 4:00, Bldg 732, A&FRC. Learn how your personality effect the way you treat and deal with money.

Participants will gain valuable information on Veteran’s benefits, a rough draft of a civilian resume, and various aspects of finding a job. Participants are encouraged to wear civilian clothes (Business Casual). Spouses are highly encouraged to attend. Call 759-6020 for a reservation.

June 28: Dad’s 101 Class -11:00 – 4:30 p.m., Bldg 732, A&FRC. Participants are encouraged to bring your own lunch and learn effective methods to become a better parent. This is training program for new and expectant fathers taught by fathers. Call 759-6020 to enroll.
